4th Annual AT’s Showdown at the SF Bike Expo Nov 9-11

Mtbr is proud to be a sponsor of the SF Bike Expo. There is quite a lot of different things to see and do because the show has so much going on. Inside the Cow Palace you will find the show divided into two halls, with the Bike Swap on one side and the Industry Hall on the other. The bike swap is a great place to sell/trade/buy old and new parts. Tip: go early for the best pickin’s!

The industry hall has vendor booths setup from a few bike companies, parts and accessory makers, custom builders, bike clubs and advocacy groups. There is even a bike fashion show.

To gain a better idea of what the show is about, you can check out Mtbr’s Coverage of the SF Bike Expo from last year. Tons of photos!!

But for many, the real highlight of the show is what goes on outside, and that is the dirt jump competition known as AT’s Showdown! Back for the 4th year, the Showdown is a unique head to head style competition, but this year features a few changes. Expected DJ stars include Greg Watts, Martin Soderstrom, Andreu Lacondeguy, McCaul brothers, Ryan Howard, Casey Groves, Linus Sjholm and many more to return to dual side by side.

New for this year will be an AMATEUR competition for all the up and coming riders that aren’t quite ready for the big show. The course will be a four pack next to the Showdown jumps. Anyone can enter, but it is a first come first serve basis that will max out at 35 riders. For more information about the Amateur Competition click HERE.

What riders have to say about the contest

What do you think of the contest and why?
It´s a superfun and relaxed contest and the perfect way to end the season with your friends. I am very over traveling right now, but will travel over the pond anyway. I guess that shows that it´s a pretty damn good contest!

What is the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is definitely more towards having a good time then to win it. And that´s a great way to end a very competitive season.

Is the contest like other contest?
The comp and weekend have their own tweaks, always fun with something a bit different.
“Martin Soderstrom”

What do you think of the contest and why?
I think that the head to head format is awesome. It’s unique for a dirt jump contest and it reminds me of racing dual slalom back in the day…

What is the atmosphere like?
Atmosphere is mellow. It feels like a jam.

Is the contest like other contest?
Nope, AT’s Showdown is a refreshing detox from the hectic contest schedule that we go through over the summer.
“Tyler McCaul”
