News Race Coverage

Northvale NJ., May 2008 -
Jamis “Covert” racer Kenny Burt of Reno, NV got his first Pro NMBS (National Mountain Bike Series) podium of the season at round # 3 in Los Olivos, CA. Kenny, riding his XC bike a Carbon Jamis XCR Team, finished 5th in the Pro Super D.

The weather was calling for near record breaking temperatures and they were right, 102 at the start! The high temps and the dry loose trail called for complete concentration, great bike handling skills and power. Kenny finished 0.31 off of the leader and has moved to 5th place in the overall National Super D point standings.

“The bike rode perfect, it’s light, stiff and handles great at speed, I basically used my XC set up with some larger Kenda tires. I am really looking forward to the Park City race with over 1000 vertical and rougher terrain as my bikes just get better as the course gets rougher!”

With tougher more technical courses coming up, Kenny will be looking to keep climbing that podium ladder!
