Alpinestars is a brand that is well known for quality, innovation and style. They have a huge following in the world of motorcycle road racing and I have personally owned several pairs of Alpinestars motorcycle boots and leather jackets for years. In the early 90′s, Alpinestars made several different bicycle products (from shoes and clothes to handlebars and even bikes) and back in the day, my favorite pair of mountain bike shoes were Alpinestars System 6′s.
Times changed, however, and Alpinestars got out of cycling completely (at one point) to focus on the moto side of their business. But the attraction and crossover appeal was too strong to stay away for long. Until very recently, gravity super star Greg Minnaar rode in Alpinestars apparel for years. We here at Mtbr recently tested their Manual Shorts and Drop Jersey and found their quality and comfort and fit to be truly superior.
For 2013, Alpinestars continues to innovate and create and expand. I was shown several new products for the coming year and it is obvious that they take the cycling game seriously.
