Joining Forces With Chrome And Widmer Brothers Brewing, ARTCRANK San Francisco Returns In Support Of The San Francisco Bike Coalition
San Francisco, Calif. (October 12, 2011) – Today, Chrome, the world’s leading manufacturer of bike messenger bags, footwear and urban cycling apparel, is honored to announce the third annual ARTCRANK SF. Together with joint sponsor, Widmer Brothers Brewing, the three entities have teamed up to rep the goodness of art, bikes and beer, the crux of ARTCRANK.
ARTCRANK uses creativity to change how people look at and think about bicycles, and grow the cycling community. Throughout eight bike-friendly cities and growing, they host pop-up art shows, featuring bicycle-inspired poster artwork that introduces people to talented local artists, while bringing together all facets of cycling culture in support of one beneficiary in each respective city.
“One of the big ideas behind ARTCRANK is that we want to make art as accessible to people as bikes are,” says ARTCRANK founder Charles Youel. “Part of that is price — it’s pretty cool to be able offer limited edition, handmade posters for less than 50 bucks. But it’s also about introducing people to the artists who live and work in their community. We’ve got more than 30 in our lineup this year,
and about two-thirds of them are first-time contributors to ARTCRANK. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.”
