Vancouver B.C. –BC Bike Race “the Ultimate Singletrack Experience” has just penned a deal with Julien Prenez, a young marketing student from France. This contract will see Julien open up a new chapter for BCBR for the 2011 event; Julien will head the BCBR European marketing campaign and conduct an ongoing blog detailing his adventures in BC.
What could be more interesting than the story of a young keen mountain biker from France cutting his teeth in the wild West of North Vancouver; on mountain bikes, on skis, and of course on spreadsheets?
Julien has started a blog http://bclifeadventure.blogspot.com/ and this is where you will be able to follow his internship and more interestingly his youthful immersion into N. American mountain bike culture. Julien can be found at http://www.bcbikerace.com/Media/Racer-Blogs/ as well
Julien is a business student at the Ecole Supérieure des Technologies et des Affaires in France. Early in 2010 he applied to BC Bike Race for an intern position, late in August Julien heard back and was excited about the prospect of moving to North Vancouver for the next 6 months. “It’s my goal to study sports/events marketing and to do it in BC where so much amazing riding is happening, wow. The BC Bike Race, as an event and as a location is like a dream come true”, said Julian when asked about his choice of internship. “Already I have ridden my bike with Dean, Dre and the whole team, ‘dropped in’ at the Whistler bike park and shredded the North Shore.” Followed by another “wow”!
BCBR World headquarters is located at 188 Pemberton Street, N. Vancouver. True to their roots the BCBR team live in the shadow of the trails and ride almost daily. “BC Bike Race is so excited at the fit between Julien and the in-house team that we will make sure once his term is complete, approx February 1, 2011, that we get him back for the Big Show, BCBR July 2-9, 2011” commented Andreas Hestler, director of marketing.
Welcome to the BCBR team Julien.
