Welcome Rocky Mountain Bicycles and Shimano!

BC Bike Race is proud to partner with both Rocky Mountain Bicycles and Shimano! We are looking forward to an exciting 2010 race and are thrilled to have two great companies on board.

Participants and the general public will have the opportunity to demo Rocky Mountain bikes, have their Rocky Mountain bikes tuned up by factory mechanics, and hang out with Rocky Mountain team racers vying for the 2010 BC Bike Race title. “We’re coming with some of our best racers and some new technology up our sleeves. We think we’ve got the perfect weapon for this race”, commented Rocky Mountain Bicycles Marketing Manager, Pete Roggeman.

“We are thrilled to be working with Shimano, we strongly identify with their mission statement ‘To promote health and happiness through the enjoyment of nature and the world around us”, commented Dean Payne, BC Bike Race Founder.

We’d also like to welcome back Geoff Kabush, who will be racing with us again this year! Hailing from Courtenay, BC on Vancouver Island, Geoff has firmly established himself as one of the most successful mountain bikers of all time.

We have racers participating from all over the world including; Belgium, Mexico, Japan, Israel, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand and England. Wondering who else is racing? Check out the registered racer list here. . .

Challenge vs. Epic

We at BC Bike Race have an inclusionary philosophy; we want everyone to be able to enjoy the ‘Ultimate Singletrack Experience’. Like Half Ironmans and Half Marathons, we believe that the ‘Challenge’ will enable more people to participate in the BCBR and ultimately get out to the woods and ride their bikes. Epic or Challenge, averaging 60km/day or 30km/day, we are still seven days of sweet mountain bike singletrack. Everyone should be able to reach their goals and achieve something great every year.
