BC Bike Race Newsletter – March 2011

Who Makes Mountain Biking Happen in Your Town?

We’re excited to announce the Kazlaw Community Mountain Biking Award! The Kazlaw Community Foundation is providing two spots at BC Bike Race 2011 for people who make mountain biking happen in their community.

We’re asking you to nominate deserving riders in your community for this award. What do we mean by a deserving rider? They could be a trail builder, a dedicated volunteer, an inspiring rider, a developing young racer, or anyone else you feel deserves this opportunity!

To nominate someone, please submit a short summary (up to 500 words) describing what this person does to make mountain biking happen, along with one to four inspiring photos. Email nominations to info@bcbikerace.com by April 6th, when we’ll announce the eligible nominees and put it back to you to VOTE ON THE MOST DESERVING RIDERS.

More details available here.

Sunshine Coast – Stage Profiles

For the fifth year, we’re travelling from ferry to ferry on the Sunshine Coast over Days Four and Five! Each year, Course Designer Rod Camposano and his team build new trails to make these stages better and better.

Starting from BC Ferries’ Earls Cove Terminal, riders will start climbing into the Klein and Ruby Lake Trails, then be treated to some amazing views at the top. After some great singletrack, they’ll drop in to finish at our Base Camp in the heart of Sechelt. The next morning features a mind-blowing seven kilometres of sweet singletrack downhill on the famous Highway 103 trail that takes you right to the Langdale Ferry Terminal for your next sailing. To see what we’re talking about, check out our 2010 Day Four Video and 2010 Day Five Video!
