Christian Wright Double Podiums at NMBS National at San Yenez, CA

Men’s Junior Expert 16 & Under Down Hill 4th

Men’s Junior Expert 18 & Under Dual Slalom 2nd

100 Degree Heat and some of the fastest riders in California could not keep Christian from a solid 4th Place podium finish in Down Hill. Christian had a clean down hill run on a mostly side hill course that wound through the oaks and gullies and over wood bridges on the Chamberland Ranch and ended with a 300 yard sprint through sand to the finish.

Hydration was key as the 100 plus temperatures were affecting riders. Christian finished with a time of 2:06 in a tightly stacked Junior Expert group. Christian then tried to stay cool before the dual slalom in the evening where it cooled to 90 degrees and a slight breeze gave some relief.

After qualifying 4th and getting into the semi finals Christian rallied the crowd as he boosted a quadruple jump in the red lane that most only the pros were hitting. The risky but effective 20 foot quad was enough to take out the number 1 qualifier and put Christian in the finals.

Christian had 2 solid and very close runs in the final but ended up with second place and the silver medal by an amazing .100 of a second behind first place. It was a well enjoyed victory.
