Intense Cycles Scales back Internet/Mail Order Outlets

October 31st, 2007 by Gregg

Intense Cycles continues to build its dealer and distributor network throughout the U.S. and abroad and in an effort to support the brick and mortar dealers around the globe, Intense has terminated relationships with several online/mail order retailers. “There are still places in the world where you cannot walk into a shop and purchase an Intense frame or bike, so we understand the reason for an online/mail order presence, but as we bring on more dealers, the need for multiple internet retailers is no longer there. The companies we have chosen to partner with have proven over the years to not only present Intense in a professional manner, hold our MSRP and provide after sales service and support, but have also promoted our brand through demo programs, race teams, open house and other events. In the short term this move may cost us some sales, but we believe that in the long term we will gain them back, and more, by supporting our dealer and distributor network”

Nice. I suppose you have terminated
your relationship with customers too. this might explain why I have no reply from Intense after emailing you several times regarding a frame I have purchased. Seems like you guys are more concerned about your dealers than your customers. A word of advice: Look after your customers, because without them you are nothing. Cheers, Jeremy

Jeremy, not sure where you bought your bike. If it was a dealer, then they should be able to help you with your frame, thats what a dealer is for. Dealers got a lot of these company’s to where they are today. All this online buying, under cutting the IBD’s, is hurting the shop’s who are there to give you/customers a good experience and build a relationship based on good and friendly service. I’m probably beating a dead horse with you. I think more companies should follow what Intense is doing.

I’m with Jeremy. Dealers and bike shops are the ones whos bending us over and charging us full prices. I don’t need a good experience…I need a good deal on a bike frame. And no…more companies should not follow what Intense is doing. And why can’t you call the manufacture (Intense)? Jeremy…Ditch the Intense and buy an Ellsworth. They are easy to call and talk to a live person and are friendly.
