Description:
The Lupine Wilma 6 features 4 leds in a relatively compact light head that weighs in at only 140 grams. It is very well built and it integrates cooling fins towards the rear of the light head. Mounting is done with a beefy rubber band.
The switch is external and is designed to be mounted close to the grips. The Wilma 6 has a small battery in a soft case that is meant to mounted between the top tube and the down tube of the frame.

The Wilma 6 can be mounted on the bar or on the helmet.
Light Meter Measurements:
On our ambient light meter tests, the Wilma 6 measured 44 Lux. For comparison, the Niterider TriNewt measured 33 Lux and the the NiteFLUX Photo Max measured 50 Lux.
Strengths:
- Ultra bright and clean beam pattern that throws a long way
- Great run time
- Configurable light levels
- Extremely high quality
- Light package
- Very useable in terms of weight, brightness, beam pattern width.
Weaknesses:
- Cannot be aimed left to right easily
- External switch is not ideal as it takes up handlebar space and complicates mounting
- Pricey at $700
Bottom Line:
While we did not rave about the the Betty 12, we think the Wilma 6 hits the mark! The price and weight is better and makes this light more versatile.
While we’re still not sold on the mounting and external switch, we’ll go ahead and give this light a 5.0 Overall rating. It’s just really good. It’s as wide and as bright as we need for $700. And while not cheap, we think it offers pretty good value.
In fact, one of the dream setups is two Wilmas. One on the bar and one on the helmet.

Alright! Thanks for the good review Francios. I’ve just recieved a Betty 6 and should have a Wilma 6 in any day now. I’m looking forward to lighting up the night on my PM rides. I almost went with the Exposures, but in the end opted for the Lupine quality. The Betty really blows me away in all aspects. Yes, they are expensive, but I feel I got what I paid for.
Also, thanks for setting up this whole light review. I tmust have taken a long time to do. Another smokin’ addition to MTBR.

merci!! thanks for the review. I have been playing with a Wilma 6 for a few weeks and now and am just waiting for ‘da man’ (IRS) to give a little tax return love, and I can purchase the system. Great LED shoot-out!!! On a 2nd note for everyone. I have been using the Wilma for night skiing and am waiting to try it out caving. Lupine offers an awesome (and comfortable) headband for their lights, and it works seemlessly!!
