Time is flying as we build up to the North American Handmade Bicycle Show’s first visit to the East Coast, February 26-28 in Richmond, Virginia. This newsletter features some recent news from the world of NAHBS and a call for volunteers. Upcoming announcements will include the 2010 seminar schedule and the opening of online ticket sales. Thanks for reading and - as always - for your support of NAHBS. Handmade at Interbike Mixed in among the cookie-cutter models at last month’s Interbike show were some gems from the handmade world. The contrast really highlighted the craftsmanship, ingenuity, and quality of the independent builders that NAHBS celebrates. On our website, you’ll find our Interbike coverage featuring Pegoretti, Moots, Brooks, and more. 36 Hours in Richmond Our upcoming host city of Richmond, Virginia, was recently featured in The New York Times for its burgeoning art and restaurant scenes. There’s a real transformation happening in Richmond, which is a big part of why we’re so excited to bring NAHBS to town. Here’s a link to the article, which lists a few spots that you won’t want to miss in February. I’m personally looking forward to the local selections at Mezzanine. Volunteer at NAHBS! We need your help to put on a great show in Richmond. NAHBS is looking for volunteers for setup, ticketing, merchandise, media, and more. Everyone who helps out will receive a t-shirt and a free one-day pass to NAHBS. Email volunteers@handmadebicycleshow.com with your areas of interest and availability. We are looking for volunteers from Thursday, February 25, to Sunday, February 28. A few other notes…
Best regards,
