Redesigned CHUMBA EVO Set to Arrive!!

April 28th, 2008 by Gregg

Anaheim, CA - The CHUMBA EVO, with its patent-pending FCC suspension
will available shortly. The EVO - an extremely unique bike renown for
its proprietary suspension design focuses its center of mass under the
trunk of the rider - and channels shock input into the same area.

The EVO was trail-tested on several different continents by magazine
editors, racers, and experienced riders over the last two years and
has gained a reputation for being one of the burliest, best-handling,
laid-back and smooth-riding bikes. The EVO is now acclaimed as one of
the fastest six inch bikes available on the market for descending and
“very well-balanced” with “telepathic handling.” Read the reviews for
yourself at www.chumbaracing.com.

For this year, CHUMBA has added the following features to the frame:

1. ISCG mounts welded on the frame
2. Narrower seatstays
3. Redesigned rocker links
4. Quad bearings front and rear (totalling 8 bearings in just the
rockers) for the ultimate in lateral and torsional rigidity - meaning
no flex!
5. Direct-mount derailleur system - for ease of set-up and precise shifting.

The EVO will also be offered in several new colors: Candy Red, Candy
Blue, Candy Green, and Ano Black.

  2. ginsu Says:

That’s some serious rising rate leverage on the rocker arm. Looks to have a small degree of rearward axle path too.

I have one on order, You can’t beat dealing with Chumba! I sent an email at 1 a.m. on a Saturday and the CEO emailed Sunday morning. They are passionate about their product and their customer!

Is that thing’s bb that high, and is the wheel base really that short? I hope to God that that photo is distorted because if not, that thing is possibly the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. It looks like the photo has been “squished” horizontally.

why do riders always comment on the looks of a bike? is that what you’re thinking when you’re bombing down a trail? hopefully the ride is as important as the looks, and sorry, but the perfect ride (rearward axle path, rising rate suspension), is bound to look weird.

makes me wonder if you guys spend money just to stand by a good looking bike. kinda weird in my opinion, get over yourself, nobody cares what you or your bike look like.

  6. Rico Says:

Riders comment on the looks of a bike because it’s a free country and everyone has their own opinion.

You want to spend good money on a “clown bike” then go for it.

Would you spend good money on a brand new car that you thought was hideous looking? I didn’t think so. So why would I spend my hard earned cash on a bike I thought was hideous?

Unless you’ve ridden one you have no clue. The bike flat out RAILS. Can be built in a variety of fashions from light AM to burly free ride. Epic all day rides to pinning it at the bike park, it does it all. The bike owns, plain and simple.
