Industry Legend Leaves - PayPal Donations Still Needed Las Vegas, NV - February 18, 2009 - - Brent Thomson, Mountain Bike Industry Legend and Trail Master of Bootleg Canyon has lost his battle with complications from the Quadruple Bypass surgery he underwent in January. While surgery went well and Brent was coherent and talking after recovery, a series of post-operative strokes took him back to the Intensive Care Unit where he eventually succumbed to complications from the surgery. Brent’s son Barret was at his side with relatives as his condition worsened. “Brent appreciated and was aware of all of the love and support that the mountain bike industry has shown through this difficult time” said Barret. “There’s been an outpouring of emotion and support from all of his friends and the industry, and we’re making plans for a memorial event to be held at Bootleg Canyon over St. Patrick’s Day Weekend (March 14-15.)” PayPal - Click Here to Donate, thanks… Please Continue to Support Brent Through PayPal Donations Barret can still use financial support as there are many loose ends to tie up. Boulder City, NV - January 14, 2009 - - As many know, Brent Thomson, Godfather and Trail Master of Bootleg Canyon suffered a heart attack last Saturday while riding the trails that he has famously cut into the mountains surrounding Boulder City, a stones throw from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bootleg Canyon’s Brent Thompson Suffers Heart Attack - Quad Bypass Scheduled

Boulder City, NV - January 13, 2009 - - Brent Thomson, Godfather and Trail Master of Bootleg Canyon suffered a heart attack last Saturday while riding the trails that he has famously cut into the mountains surrounding Boulder City, a stones throw from Las Vegas, Nevada.

While he is currently resting under doctors care in the hospital, Brent is scheduled for the second Quadruple bi-pass in his life. Sixteen years ago he had the same surgery performed due to an unusually high hereditary cholesterol build-up.

The Fourth Annual Mob in Mojave Presidents Day Weekend February 14 & 15 2009  @ Historic Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nevada

Presidents day weekend will be filled with mountain bike racing for all to enjoy in Bootleg Canyon. This is the fourth year for this festival style race, and the word has been spreading rapidly through the grapevine of racers, spectators and enthusiasts. With over 200 racers last year, the event continues to draw larger crowds annually. Bikes, Bands, BBQ and of course being with your friends riding & racing bikes.

Here’s a quick look at what we have planned so far for this years event:

* Downhill ~ Super D ~ Dual Slalom

* Shuttles Friday, Saturday & Sunday

* U.S.A. Cycling sanctioned event

* $2,000.00 pro cash purse and USAC National Points awarded for the
downhill competition

* Prizes for the top 3 finishers in each amateur category in each discipline

* Professionally timed

* World renown coach Gene Hamilton <http://www.betterride.com> will have a 3 day race clinic at the event beginning on 2-12-09

Saturday March 15: Super D Practice 8:00 am - 9:00 am.
DH Practice from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Super D Registration from 7:00 am - 9:00 am.
Super D Racing starts at 10:00 am.
Awards and drawings at the top of race village 1/2 hour after results are posted.

Downhill Practice 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Saturday Night Street Party - Come enjoy Big Screen, Super D racing while rocking to the Stoney Curtis Band. A variety of Beer & Wine by Boulder Dam Brewing will be served at the Street Party. Don’t forget stay in town for Dinner. Our BC sponsors have donated many meals to raffled off and given away.
