HOOD RIVER, Ore. (June 24, 2009) – DAKINE, the leader in action sports accessories, is pleased to introduce its mobile website.  A newly launched, interactive site gives users access to DAKINE goodies while on the go.  Content is broken down into categories including snowboard, ski, surf, skate, bike, windsurf, kiteboard, girls and music.  An abbreviated version of DAKINE’s website, the mobile site, www.DAKINE.com/mobile, is compatible with most media rich-enabled cell phones.

Featured products, team riders, news sections, sponsored bands and a retail store locator round out the mobile site highlights.  When connected to a high-speed wireless or 3G network users can experience optimum performance of streaming music and video clips.

Additionally, worldwide surf reports provided by Surfline.com are located within the surf, windsurf and kiteboard categories.  Snow reports provided by OnTheSnow.com display conditions for North American destinations and are accessible in the ski and snowboard categories.

DAKINE PRESENTS DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE PROMOTION

Chance to Win Death Cab for Cutie CDs and Concert Tickets

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (May 29, 2009) – DAKINE, a leader in action sports accessories, has teamed up with Grammy Nominee Death Cab for Cutie and select retailers to hold a series of in-store promotions including free CDs and a chance to win Death Cab for Cutie concert tickets.

Beginning May 30, 2009, the first 30 people to purchase a DAKINE product or products totaling $40.00 or more at each participating DAKINE retailer will receive a free copy of Death Cab for Cutie’s latest release, “The Open Door EP.”

Death Cab for Cutie is wrapping up its world tour with the last eight North American stops throughout the month of July. From May 30, 2009 through June 20, 2009, fans can enter to win a pair of tickets to see Death Cab for Cutie live in concert.

Dakine to Debut Spring 2009 Mtn Bike Shorts at Interbike

Collection Also Includes New Hydration Packs, Commuter Bags, Jerseys and Gloves

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (September 8, 2008) – DAKINE, the leader in action sports accessories, will preview its spring 2009 bike collection to retailers attending the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas, Nev. beginning on Sept. 24, 2008 at booth number 4625.

“DAKINE has created products in the mountain bike category for over a decade now and with each new season I continue to be impressed with the progression we see from our design team,” said Chico Bukovansky, National Sales Director for DAKINE. “Our spring ’09 bike line is the best all around bike collection we have created to-date in terms of functionality, quality and design. The input we received from our team riders, along with expanding our product range beyond core freeride, has taken everything to a new level.”

DAKINE’s spring ’09 bike collection includes a new short category for men featuring three styles, each named after trails near its office in Hood River, Ore. The 8 TRACK and SYNCLINE shorts both feature moisture wicking polyester mesh liner, back stretch panel, inner leg vents and a gusseted crotch for increased range of motion (8 TRACK MSRP $90.00, SYNCLINE MSRP $85.00). The CHORUS is a six pocket cargo short (MSRP $75.00). Each short also features double stitched seams and triple stitched critical seams for added durability.

In addition to mountain bike shorts, the collection also includes hydration packs, bags, jerseys and gloves for guys and girls. The new men’s AMP hydration pack is lightweight, includes a 100 oz. reservoir with Quick Disconnect hose and features DAKINE’s newly re-molded back panel with Air Channel Ventilation. The smaller AMP 12L is sold without reservoir (MSRP $65.00) and the AMP 18L with reservoir (MSRP $110.00). The ever-popular NOMAD hydration pack is now available in a girl’s specific design that features a molded back panel with Air Channel Ventilation (MSRP $95.00).

Also new for the upcoming season are two commuter style bags. The DISPATCH pack features rain resistant construction, rolling access u-lock pocket and perforated EVA back panel with removable waist belt (MSRP $90.00). The PORTER messenger includes a padded laptop sleeve, internal organizer pockets and removable waist belt (MSRP $75.00).

Jerseys for the season are available in short-sleeve, ¾ sleeve, and sleeveless versions with subtle all-over prints. Featuring moisture wicking bird eye polyester, AEGIS Microbe Shield anti-bacterial fabric treatment and an eyewear chamois sewn into the interior sideseam, all jerseys are designed with performance and comfort in mind. Jersey MSRP ranges from $40.00 to $45.00.

DAKINE’s spring ’09 bike collection also includes a mix of glove options for any condition. From the all mountain, slip-on style STEP-UP (MSRP $35.00) to the warm weather VENTILATOR (MSRP $35.00), the collection features updated favorites as well as the new STORM RIDER. The STORM RIDER has a longer cuff for cold weather riding with a Gore Tex® insert and waterproof shell for the ultimate in breathability and protection from the elements.

Hood River Outdoor Recreation Company Recognized for Community Service

Hood River, OR - Over the past three years, DAKINE, an outdoor recreation company based in Hood River, has contributed nearly $20,000 in labor and contributions to maintain trails located on the Barlow Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. In recognition of DAKINE’s service to the recreating community, District Ranger Mike Hernandez will present Chico Bukovansky, National Sales Manager for DAKINE with a symbol of appreciation and thanks at 1:00 p.m. on July 31 at DAKINE’s Hood River office.

Over a three year period, DAKINE has contributed 840 hours of paid employee labor to accomplish heavy maintenance of the Knebal Springs Trail, Lookout Mt. Trail, and the Knebal Springs connector trail. “Our partnership with DAKINE is an excellent example of government and private enterprise working together as good stewards of the land and for the public common good,” said District Ranger Mike Hernandez. For this year’s celebration of National Trails Day, DAKINE also donated $3,000 for awards and incentives to be presented to other trail maintenance volunteers not affiliated with the company.
