Paris-Roubaix Tested, Now Available for You - Intensive 25mm

intensive25 Hutchinson’s second tire in the Road Tubeless category, the Intensive, is designed for serious training, long-wear, and urban riding conditions. While a larger version was just tested in the rigors of the Paris-Roubaix cobbled classic last week, a 25mm version is now available to the public.

Absalon and Peraud Win Gold and Silver at Olympics on Hutchinson Piranha Tires

Absalon

Both Choose Ultralight Tubeless Ready Technology for Victory

Beijing, China - August 27, 2008 - - Orbea Team riders Julien Absalon and Jean-Christophe Peraud both chose Hutchinson Piranha 2.0 Tubeless Ready tires to launch their attack on the World’s best mountain bike racers on the dry, hardpacked and technical course at the third-ever Olympic MTB races at Laoshan, Beijing, China last weekend.

ABSALON SECURES SECOND OLYMPIC GOLD
The tension was visible on the start line. Riders knew that a good start would be essential on the narrow and selective course. From the beginning, Julien and JC positioned themselves in the lead group and paid close attention to their competitors. Absalon launched his first attack early in the second lap to break-up the front group, then relaunched again in the middle of the second lap which formed a group of four, containing two Swiss riders and Peraud. Jean-Christophe set-up his attack at the end of the second lap and settled into his position.

After eight laps of effort, at about eighteen kilometers an hour average, the Hutchinson riders finished one-two on a course that had evolved from way-too-easy at test races earlier in the year, to one of the most technical courses in Elite racing history.

PIRANHA ULTRALIGHT SEMI-SLICK
Both riders chose the Hutchinson Piranha 26 X 2.0 Tubeless Ready tires (at 480 grams) with Fast’Air latex sealant. The Piranha Tubeless Ready tire is the lightest tire of the Hutchinson MTB performance range. The system merges the advantages of tubed tires (extreme lightness) with the enormous advantages of Tubeless (comfort, performance and grip).

TUBELESS READY
Piranha Tubeless Ready tires can be mounted Tubeless using a Hutchinson Fast’Air inflator, or with an inner tube if necessary. It’s a terrain specific high-performance tire that was obviously the best choice for the Olympic course.
