The resort of Châtel, French resort of the Portes du Soleil domain, is working hard to prepare the
3rd Châtel Mountain Style Contest which will take place from 3. to 5. July 2009. Let’s remind that
it is an international downhill mountain-biking event for professionals and amateurs in freeride
and slopestyle.
This event, unlike anything else in the world, is situated on a face, THE FACE, which is 300 m
long, 100 m large, and has 160 m difference, specially shaped by the Châtel bikes patrols with
Sébastien Giraldi and the Radical Films (Kranked) riders who will run the contest… Steve
Romaniuk will come before the event to take part to this preparation and build very technical
units, with a high part in top conditions and a more spectacular end of face to give more
sensations to the riders and more spectacle to the visitors!!
A 4-person jury lead by Ben Walker of the “Scott Team” will judge the riders. This jury will
include:
1 technical judge
1 engagement judge
1 fluidity judge
1 tricks judge.
The riders will have to show their multivalency and to the good choice in the line where fluidity,
involvement and control will be judged with the backflips, 3.6…
New for the 2009 edition: the Indem Girly Dating! This year, the ladies are invited to come
and ride on a special zone built for them! The jury will work in the same way for the
ladies as he does for the men…
