HIGHLAND MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK ANNOUNCES 2010 CLAYMORE DATES

(Northfield, New Hampshire) – Mark your calendars and ask your boss for some time off, the Claymore Challenge is coming back to Highland Mountain Bike Park on July 15 – 17th, 2010. Known for its emphasis on rider and fan interaction, the Claymore will once again return with that trademark combination of music and mountain biking that has earned it a reputation amongst pro riders as “one of the funnest events of the year”.
First launched in 2008, the Claymore has quickly grown to become a fan and rider favorite. With athletes hailing from around the world, the open format slopestyle creates an exciting event that allows amateurs the opportunity to compete alongside the worlds most renowned freeride superstars.
“It’s a great feeling to be planning the 3rd Annual Claymore with the Highland team.” Said Mark Hayes, General Manager of Highland Mountain Bike Park, “We host the event because it is the growing trend in park riding and we want fans of gravity sports to see that slopestyle is no joke. Highland Mountain Bike Park Brodown Showdown

Highland Mountain Bike Park Brodown Showdown Jump Jam is slated for Saturday September 5, 2009 in the Highland Jump Park from 2pm-5pm.

The chillest event of the year, the Brodown Showdown is about coming out for a day of riding. No pressure here! It’s simple, you throw down we give you sweet stuff. Music, BBQ, beer garden and the most polished jump park on the east coast. what more could you ask for? So come and celebrate Labor Day weekend with us. HIGHLAND OPEN/AM SLOPESTYLE RETURNS AUGUST 8TH

(Northfield, New Hampshire) – After a short break following the successful 2nd Annual Claymore Challenge, slopestyle competition returns to Highland Mountain Bike Park on August 8th for the 2nd round of the 2009 Highland Am/Open Slopestyle Series.

The event, which is open to all levels of riders, features two competitive categories; the Amateur Class, for beginner and intermediate riders, and the Open Class, which is intended for expert and professional competitors. Both groups will have the opportunity to compete on what the sports top freeride athletes dub “the most fun slopestyle course” in the sport; the Dave Smutok designed Killicrankie Slopestyle Course.

Registration for the event is now open online at www.highlandmountain.com and will remain open until 6:00 pm on Thursday August 6th. Riders can still register for the event on-site up until 11:00 am on Saturday August 8th.

Highland Mountain gears up for Claymore Challenge

Northfield, NH- Highland Mountain Bike Park is gearing up for the 2nd Annual Highland Claymore Challenge returning July 15-18th. The world’s greatest freeriders will descend on Highland to compete on the Dave Smutok designed/built Killecrankie slopestyle course and battle it out for the $10,000 cash purse and bragging rights of the 2009 “Knight of Highland”.

The festivities begin on Wednesday the 15th when the park opens to the public for freeriding. The slopestyle course will open to both invited pros and “last chance qualifiers” on Thursday. The weekend isn’t just about sick riding, spectators and fans will be entertained by music from IZ-Style; with live acts on the main stage by Paranoid Social Club, Audio Journal and Pete Kilpatrick. Take a venture through the Eco-Village and demo a bike from Trek and Rocky Mountain, as well as pro autograph signings, BBQ and the Sam Adams Beer Garden, plus much more! Pick up a souvenir Claymore beer mug and t-shirt as well. The festivities don’t end with the podium ceremony, stay well into the night Saturday for the Claymore after party in the Highland Lodge.

Highland Mountain Bike Park Announces 2009 Event and Camp Calendar

Northfield, NH- After a killer 2008 season Highland Mountain Bike Park has stepped it up again and packed the calendar full of races, slopestyles, jump comps, camps and much more.
Highland will kick off the season on May 9th with a season pass holder ONLY day, giving the pass holders the sneak peak on what the Highland trail crew has been up to all winter. Then they will officially kick off the ’09 season on May 15th.
“We are entering our 4th year open to the public and it’s time to start loading the calendar with events, says Highland Mountain Bike Park owner Mark Hayes. “We have a lot of work to do and the off season is a good time to get the rainy day projects done!” “Once the snow melts the trail crews will be right back at it…we are ready for a great year!”
Highland will continue working with the Mad March Racing camps to bring slopestyle, jump and racing programs throughout the year. Highland Camps start as low as $40 per session and include a lift ticket. So, what are you waiting for, now is the time to learn and Highland has the program for you.
Aaron Chase will also return to Highland this season bringing his signature Hold on Loosely tour back through his old stomping grounds. Chase and the Highland crew have some plans in the works, so stay tuned for a big announcement coming soon. “This year is going to be better then ever and open to the public. Hint, Hint.” says Chase.
Mark your calendars and watch the top pros battle it out at the 2nd Annual Claymore Challenge on July 18th, who will end up in the pond this year?
