Küat Racks Go International

Kuat has recently picked up its first Distributor outside the U.S. Decavisa, a bicycle distributor in Costa Rica has picked up the Kuat line. The success that Decavisa has had so far shows that the appeal of Kuat’s products is not limited to Americans. This is the first step for Kuat in expanding its footprint outside of the U.S. market. Kuat is also in the process of expanding into the Canadian market where there has already been a significant demand for the product due to the exposure from product reviews on Pinkbike.com, Mountain Flyer Magazine and Dirt Rag Magazine. With the coming additions of two new platform racks that are better suited for downhill bikes, the Kuat product line continues to carve out a share of the bike rack market.

The new concept of a lightweight hitch rack was launched by Kuat just over twelve months ago, and already the trend in the market has began to shift in this direction. Since the Alpha and Beta racks have launched, several of the major bike rack brands have followed suit with their versions of a lightweight hitch rack. The small Missouri based company, Kuat, is relying on innovation and being first to market to be the pillars upon which their brand is built.

Established in 2006, Küat Innovations is a Springfield, Missouri based bike rack firm founded by Luke Kuschmeader and Brian Atkinson. The partners aimed to engineer a lightweight, hand welded bike rack that was affordable and assembled in the USA. The results are Küat’s Alpha and Beta series, featuring easy adjustability, locking hitch pins, cable bike locks for security, anti sway locks, adjustable carriages, tightening hitch cams and anti-theft construction. Both racks are constructed of clear-coated aluminum, lightweight, and can fold down flat enough for storage behind a pickup truck seat. Küat racks are also designed to carry bikes of all types, including BMX bikes. Essentially, Küat’s offers a better, more affordable bike rack than the competition. Küat is pronounced koo-at (rhymes with goo fat). It comes from combining the names of the two founders of the company, Luke KUschmeader and Brian ATkinson
