One of the best known names in the handmade bicycle business, Craig Calfee (Calfee Design) has been building with composites since 1987. His work with tandems spans decades, too. But now, he is taking tandems to a whole new level.
Highlighted here, is the Calfee Carbon Fiber Tandem 29er Mountain Bike! The work on this bike is amazing, as is the weight! The entire bike as shown weighs in at 30 lbs. It features electronic shifting, 29er wheels, White Brothers fork and custom carbon wrapped stems and bars.

Beautiful work but not well though out. This is a mountain bike, why in the world is the bottom tube straight? Won’t be long before this one winds up perched on a rock with a crushed tube. Arch the bottom tube and/or brace it against the top tube on V.2…
You’ve must not have ridden a tandem before. You’d be hauling some a&% and that bottom tube would clear any obstacle in the air before it came in contact with anything. There’s no creapin’ on a tandem.
