Cane Creek Introduces the All-New Aheadset System

News

The all-new Aheadset® is more than a collection of individual headset models, it’s a complete system that will revolutionize the way bicycle headsets are serviced. The all-new Aheadset® system intelligently maximizes parts interchangeability while at the same time minimizing the number of unique parts. With just 18 unique parts in the system, 11 different headset configurations can be assembled, from Traditional models all the way through a ZeroStack™ for threaded or threadless 1″ or 1-1/8″.

Aheadset® is the quintessential service and repair headset system that will enhance a service departments ability to serve its customers with a high-value, feature rich, problem-solving, durable product.

Aheadset Interchangeability

A critical design goal has been met: minimize the number of unique parts while maximizing interchangeability. Universal high-ball-compliment caged bearings are used on all but the integrated model. An innovative compression cover integrates the compression ring and top cover for threadless configurations. One universal top cap was developed for both 1″ and 1-1/8″ threadless configurations. In threadless configurations the cone and crown race are the same part. All but the integrated headset feature a universal LubeAlarm green o-ring seal.

The commonality of parts makes the Aheadset® system adaptable to a number of unique headset configurations beyond the 6 standard models. Using the small parts kit, it’s possible to create 11 unique headset configurations; including a ZeroStack™ threaded assembly for either a 1″ or 1-1/8″ fork. Additionally, 1″ threaded or threadless steer-tubes can be, for the first time ever, adapted to a 1-1/8″ head-tube.
