Popular in Europe, Brand Brings Full Line of Aggressive, Technical Sunglasses to America

Overland Park, KS May 2012 – Established 120 years ago in France, – Cébé (SAY BAY) has built a strong reputation as a premier outfitter of technical sunglasses for Europe’s adventure sport enthusiasts. Purchased in 2009 by Bushnell Outdoor Products – owner of the Bollé and Serengeti brands of eyewear – Cébé enters the U.S. backed by the technical expertise and marketing power of an established optical industry leader. Cébé’s initial U.S. assortment consists of seventeen unique models divided among the three collections.

Sportech – Technical sunglasses with many distinctive features engineered to deliver peak optical clarity, complete protection and comfort in even the most extreme conditions. Frame and lens materials are optimized for specific activities including: Nordic skiing, cycling, trekking and triathlon. ICE 8000 and Base Camp models are available with Cébé 4000 Mineral lenses, which are engineered for use at high altitudes. Cinetik, Wild and Eyemax feature ultra-light (5.8 gram) frames and interchangeable lenses with three lens sets (tinted, yellow and clear).

Sport Active – Versatile, lightweight sports eyewear crafted for performance and style. All models, S’Kiss, S’Teem and S’Sential, feature SymbioTech – a v-shaped temple shaped to follow the natural shape of the head, distributing pressure evenly for a more comfortable fit. S’Teem and S’Sential have ultra-wrap lenses for protection and improved peripheral vision.

Junior – Robust, flexible sunglasses for complete protection of kids’ eyes. Available Cébé 2000 Melamine lenses mimic the pigment that makes skin tan, shielding young eyes from harmful UV rays and blue light. All models have bi-material frames with Grilamid® on the outside for durability and soft material on the inside for comfort.

Sportech models Cinetik, Wild and Eyemax range and in price from $49.99 to $69.99; ICE 8000 from $79.99 to $109.99 and Base Camp from $99.99 to $109.99. Sport Active models range from $39.99 to $79.99. Junior sunglasses start at $29.99 and go to $49.99. Sportech and Sport Active sunglasses will be sold at sport specialty retailers. Junior sunglasses will be sold exclusively by eye-care professionals.
