Charge Cruisers Hit US Market

News

Santa Fe NM – February 23, 2010 UK based Charge Bikes has quickly become a recognized name in Urban single speed bikes. The company has now developed two new gender-specific cruiser models, the Steamer for men and the Lazy Susan for women. Charge’s US distributor, BTI, has received its first shipment of both models.

Both bikes are internally geared 3-speeds with a low, upright riding position. Aluminum Sturmey Archer hubs keep the weight down. The lightweight aluminum frame includes an integrated rack featuring an inset plywood deck. Custom chrome fenders and chain guard add to the classic look. Charge handlebars and a Charge spring saddle ensure instant comfort for riders of any ability.

According to Charge’s designer Nick Larsen, “these stylish bikes are perfect for commuting, riding at the beach or heading to the local pub. They are intended to give the rider the sensation of being seated safely inside the bike, rather than perched on top of it.”

BTI Vice President Preston Martin adds, ” these models have broad appeal, from students to retirees. With their simplicity, style, comfort and price, these bikes will be popular with a wide range of customers.” MSRP for either bike is $699.
