CHRIS BARRON AND THE TIME BANDITS TO PERFORM
FREE CONCERT DURING WINDHAM 2010 MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUP FESTIVAL
Windham, N.Y. — Highlighting this summer’s Windham 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup Festival, Chris Barron and The Time Bandits will perform a free concert on Saturday, Aug. 28 in Windham.
Best known for his role as the lead singer of The Spin Doctors, Chris Barron now tours with The Time Bandits, performing an array of songs from Barron’s solo album, “Pancho and the Kid,” as well as some Spin Doctors’ classics.
As talented mountain bikers from all over the world come to Windham Mountain, so will biking enthusiasts, fans, and community members. Therefore, local organizers who put Windham on the map for consideration by the Union Cyclist Internationale (the international association of the National Cycling Federations), have also planned a number of entertaining events such as this free concert, which is certain to entertain audience members of all ages, from young children to mountain bike professionals.
“We are very excited to have Chris Barron and The Time Bandits as part of the great community event we’re planning,” said Race Director Nick Bove. “In addition to the outstanding racing that will be taking place, the riders, their teams, spectators and the entire community can come out and enjoy this great concert.”
The U.S has not been host to a Mountain Bike World Cup event for five years (and never for the finals), making organizers determined to create a successful and fun event. Along with the free concert, other family friendly activities planned include an indoor/outdoor expo, a “Big Wheel” race, a kids’ race for children 10 and under, a block party, great food and music, a pool party, as well as a fireworks show following the concert.
Tickets for Chris Barron and The Time Bandits at the Windham 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup Festival will be available on site at Windham Mountain on Friday Aug. 26.
