Club Ride Unveils 2013 Offerings, Including All-New SUB5 Urban Line

Apparel News

Ketchum, ID – Club Ride has announced its 2013 product offerings, now divided into two distinctive lines: Sun Valley & SUB5. The Sun Valley line includes refined versions of perennial Club Ride favorites like the New West and Go West, which earned them a devoted following in mountain biking meccas across the country. New for 2013, the SUB5 line applies Club Ride’s philosophy on performance cycling apparel to urban style.

Deriving its name from bike rides of less than five miles, the SUB5 line delivers sleek, functional apparel to urban riders who utilize the bike as a primary mode of transportation. “We want to give bike commuters and other urban riders apparel options that provide our signature elements of functionality in a stylish package suitable for the office, or just a night on the town,” said Founder Mike Herlinger. “From the reflective accents that add safety, to the fabric selections, every decision we made when designing this line had the bike in mind.”

Both the Sun Valley & SUB5 lines also feature completely re-imagined women’s designs. Club Ride relied heavily on the expertise of designers Patricia Nilsen and Becky Lamphier. Nilsen has helped many notable brands including prAna, Title Nine, Smartwool, and Brooks, and was recognized as one of Bike Magazine’s “25 Most Important Women in Cycling.”

“Patty has really given our women’s apparel style and performance,” noted CEO Scott Montgomery. “With Becky and Patty collaborating under Mike’s direction, our women’s line has reached new heights. In recent meetings, many buyers have expressed more excitement about the women’s line than the men’s, which is a testament to their hard work.”

With nearly double the offerings, 2013 looks to be a year of major growth for Club Ride. “We really see lifestyle cycling apparel beginning to make its way into the mainstream,” said Montgomery. “In 2013, Club Ride will be in a great position to provide stylish, performance cycling apparel to all cyclists. From a hardcore mountain biker in Colorado, to a bike commuter in Minneapolis, we have options for everyone.”
