Portland, Oregon (February 1, 2012) - Portland’s Lumberyard indoor mountain bike park is ready to kick off their event series strong, starting with Cross Up - an indoor cyclocross event presented by the infamous Amanda Sundvor of Backyard Blam.
Cross Up will feature tournament style races where two riders go shoulder-to-shoulder in each heat. Racers will ride customized Raleigh Furleysingle speed cyclocross bikes with flat bars, big tires, and platform pedals. Amanda and her Backyard Blam crew have devised a course that will include jumps, rollers, berms and barriers. Whether you like catching air or if you prefer to stay earth-bound, Amanda says the course will be a ton of fun for novice and experienced riders alike.
While all this is going on, The Lumberyard will be hosting a full on graffiti art competition, featuring several graffiti artists from the Portland area. This event is open to the public, so come on down for an evening of serious entertainment. Bike racing, art, a keg or two, and a sneak peek of Portland’s soon to be world famous Lumberyard mountain bike park.
Registration to take part in the cyclocross race starts at 5pm on Saturday, February 4th, and the party will commence shortly after.
