Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 – If you have not seen them already, check out the pro model helmets that the two POC team athletes, Danny MacAskill and Martin Söderström, have launched to the market this spring.
Danny MacAskill, well known from the YouTube Clip „Way Back Home“ already has a new project: With the production company Anthill Films he works on a new movie called “Strength in Numbers”, a kind of mountain biking anthology coming out in 2012. With his helmet, Danny went for a simplistic look, with helmet colours inspired from his native Scottish flag. “I feel really lucky to be riding for POC, their helmets and pads saved me countless times while trying to ride and film for the Way Back Home film last year. It is really cool for me to put my name on a product I know gives the best protection on the market!” says Danny.
Martin Söderström is one of the best freeriders worldwide. In the FMB World Tour ranking he currently takes 2nd place and is very keen on the next big FMB World Tour events in order to conquer the top of the podium. He chose a bright red, together with the following message running on the edge of the helmet: “I am not the “F#K” pain just do the trick kind of a guy. It’s not my way of thinking. In my opinion, it’s cool to consider how to do the trick you’re about to perform. I know it hurts to crash so always carry my words on your head, believe me, it will help you in the end!” Martin explains: “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to have a pro model helmet. I was worried someone would get hurt while riding it. But after having seen all the work POC is doing on their helmets to reduce consequences of injuries, I wasn’t worried anymore – just calm. It’s good to know that everyone that is riding it is going to have the best protection possible. A couple of friends are already riding it and I am very happy to see how good the design turned out. I am very excited that the helmet is out on the market now and hope that you like it as much as I do!”
“We are proud to be friends with and support these guys in their constant quest to succeed with the impossible.” Says Stefan Ytterborn, CEO POC.
