For USA Manufacturers that Export Around the World, the E-Award is Coveted

Hildebran, NC USA – May 17, 2012. In a ceremony today at the White House in Washington, DC, DeFeet Founder Shane Cooper and VP International Sales Lynn Moretz accepted the “President’s E-Award”.

2012 marks the 50th annual “E” Awards. Today Commerce Secretary John Bryson honored DeFeet among a select group of US manufacturers. The “E” Awards are the highest recognition any U.S. entity may receive for supporting export activity. Winners are authorized to fly the blue and white banner, display the accompanying certificate and refer to the award in their advertising.

“We are all proud at DeFeet to receive this award” said Lynn Moretz, DeFeet VP International Sales. “DeFeet products are in demand Internationally and our distribution network now includes over 35 countries. Our distributors are doing well with us.”

DeFeet Founder and Chief Sockologist Shane Cooper added “It means so much to be recognized in this country for manufacturing excellence. I have to hand it to Lynn and the rest of our team for their diligence in growing our ‘footprint’ around the world. We really thank our International distributors for their efforts.”

The E Award presentation is part of World Trade Month, consistent with President Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI). Mr. Obama’s NEI seeks to increase U.S. exports abroad in the effort to grow the number of jobs here at home. Companies honored today sell high quality products and services in every corner of the world and most importantly, helping to create good jobs for American workers. Secretary Bryson’s vision for the Commerce Department is to support American business to enable them to “build things here, and sell them everywhere.” “The sports of cycling, running, ski and outdoor are what got us here” Cooper said, gazing across the White House lawn. “DeFeet is committed to make the finest products and exporting, of course. Supporting our customers and dealers, that is really what this is about.”
