Escondido, CA (March 28, 2012) – The ‘DRD Intense’ professional mountain bike team started the season early by competing in the 1st round of the California Golden State Cup in Fontana California. Team riders Cody Warren (3rd) & Austin Warren (7th) both capitalized on the strong competition to judge their off season training, despite rain during finals.
“I had a descent run for the first race of the year,” said national series champion Cody Warren. “There was a long gap between final practice and pro finals, so lines changed dramatically. With the added rain, the course got grippier in sections, but slick in others. Pretty pumped to see I’m on the right track with my training!”
Teammate & younger brother, Austin Warren, had an impressive ride for his official pro race. Relentless training during the offseason is proving to be a great advantage for the young rider. Against bigger & stronger competitors, Austin proved he’s a threat to any podium!
“Yah, I’m pumped on my result,” said Austin Warren. “I hadn’t raced against any pros until the World Cups last summer, so it’s definitely a bit of a change, but I’m up to the challenge! It’s gonna be an exciting summer! I can’t wait!”
The ‘DRD Intense’ professional mountain bike team is getting geared up to make our official launch at the Sea Otter Classic, in Monterey, California next month! See you out there!
