DT Swiss 2013 Product Overview

Components Wheels

DT Swiss Tricon wheel System
Our engineers have put all their wheelbuilding experience into the developement of the TRICON wheelsystem. All components have been optimized several times and fine tuned one to another for the best possible stiffness to weight ratio. TRICON wheels are tubeless compatible and variable in rotor and axle configuration due to the star ratchet drive system. And of course their looks match their performance.

Two piece hub
The two piece flange and hub shell design keeps the bearing seat free of tension. This allows the bearings to spin as smoothly as possible.

Straight double threaded spokes
This spoke connection is considerably stronger as it is playfree on both ends and therefore subject to smaller peak loads.

Open Crowfoot
Spoke pattern with combined radial and crossed spokes for high stiffness and perfect transmission of torques.

Torx nipples
Thanks to the Torx design the truing tool has a better grip on the nipple.

Rim insert
The spoke inserts are supported on two sides in the rim creating a big contact surface. The rim can be designed lighter, is airtight and
tubeless compatible.

Concave rim profile
The concave shaped sidewalls counteract the expansion force induced by tire pressure and spoke pull.

Star Ratchet
Thanks to the proven DT Swiss Ratchet System the hubs can easily be converted to different axle standards and rotors.

DT Swiss Spline wheel System
With their intricately machined hub shells, cleverly positioned spokes and proven freewheel technology, the new for 2013 DT Swiss Spline wheels are engineered with modern riding needs in mind. It’s components like the Spline wheels that allow riders to go faster and further, ultimately making the cycling experience even more fun.

The combination of high attention to detail and the legendary DT Swiss reliability featured with the new Spline wheels will make you smile ride after ride, year after year.

Adapted rim
Splinewheels come with rims specifically designed for their intended use and are tubeless convertible

Straight pull spokes
Spline wheels use high precision straight pull spokes for the perfect strength to weight ratio. Stronger than conventional spokes, they are still true- and replaceable with standard tools.

Spline hubshell
The result of precise engineering: A lightweight, aggressive looking hubshell specifically designed for straight pull spoke use.

Spoke positioning
The Spline hub shell design and straight pull spokes allow for an optimized position of the spoke anchor points, creating a stiffer, more responsive wheel.

Spoke anchors
Due to the shape of the spoke anchors, spoke pull has only minimal effects on the bearing seats, which in turn considerably increases
bearing longevity.

Lacing pattern
Spline hubs are optimized for their respective lacing pattern. This ensures that the spokes align with mathematical precision so that
material use is minimized for the best weight to strength ratio.

Proven freewheel technology
Spline wheels are either featuring the DT Swiss Star Ratchet or Two Pawl freewheel systems. Both offer quick and safe engagements while only requiring minimal maintenance.

DT Swiss Classic Wheel System
The Classic range delivers everything expected from DT Swiss wheels. Constantly being improved through modern materials and Swiss engineering, it gains in performance year by year. With easy maintenance and worldwide availability of spare parts, Classic wheels are a safe bet. From the exclusive XC racing wheel, the XRC 950 T, to the benchmark all mountain wheel, the EX 1750, the range comprehends wheels for all cycling needs.

High end components
Classic wheels are built using DT Swiss’ proven wheel components: Hubs, spokes, nipples and rims all meet some of the tightest tolerances in the bicycle industry.

The conventional build of all Classic wheels allows one to easily find and install spare parts, even in the most remote corner of the world.

Fine tuned componentry
All components are carefully adapted to fulfill their function. From the eyeletted rim, to the butted spoke down to the contact free seal, DT Swiss uses its exceptional knowledge of materials and form giving.

Best value
Classic wheels offer the best value for the money. Simple wheelbuilding and conventional componentry keep the cost low while featuring championship winning performance.

Classic looks
Some bikes just match best with traditional wheel sets. Classic wheels combine classic elements such as two cross lacing with high end materials like carbon for exceptional wheel performance.

Adapted rim
Classic wheels come with rims specifically designed for their intended use and are tubeless convertible.

Proven freewheel technology
Classic wheels are either featuring the DT Swiss Star Ratchet or Two Pawl freewheel systems. Both offer quick and safe engagements while only requiring minimal maintenance.
