DT Swiss Launches Service Initiative for Tricon Wheel Systems

Grand Junction, CO—DT Swiss has launched a full-line of service kits available to dealers needed to properly field service the ever-growing line of Tricon wheels. “We’re really excited to offer these service parts to the dealer, which in turn, helps us serve the end-consumer best,” said Aftermarket Sales Manager, Matt McClendon. “Up to this point, our factory-authorized service centers have performed a minimal amount of maintenance for the Tricons thus sold,” said McClendon, “but we realize dealers are crucial to our success, so it’s important to support them by giving them the tools and the training needed to successfully service our Tricon line.
These service kits are the first step in that direction.  Service kits range from basic maintenance kits for minor repairs and servicing, to fully comprehensive kits to rebuild an entire wheel if needed. All kits will allow dealers to service both aftermarket and OEM Tricon wheel systems found on many of the industry’s leading brands.

DT’s Tricon wheel system was introduced during the 2009 tradeshow season, with the XM1550 mountain and RR1450 road versions. This year the Tricon line was expanded to include the M1700 mountain and R1700 road versions. Consumers and shops will also be able to experience the benefits of the Tricon system through increased OEM specification in 2011.

I think the lacing pattern allows DT to build a light and stiff wheel without loading the bearing pocket. After looking at the whole DT wheel line up they still offer mostly conventional wheels, and more spokes options than ever. I also noticed at the show that every wheel is handbuilt (so I’m sure they are master wheelbuilders themselves).

Some people just can’t accept anything new eh?
