RIVERSIDE, CA SoCal retailer Jenson USA and Eastern Bikes have partnered to donate 20 BMX bicycles, kickstands, and locks to deserving students at Emerson Elementary School in Riverside, California this holiday season. The recipients were selected based on their personal growth and improvement, and include 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys and girls, as well as select special education students from the school.
Jenson USA founder Michael Cachat met event organizer Robert Stockton (head of a local Engineering firm and Bicycle Advisory Committee member) at a meeting of the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, and from there it just fell into place. “When I heard Bob’s story I just knew Jenson USA had to be involved” says Cachat. “It’s a perfect fit in keeping with our mission, and right in our new backyard here in Riverside.”
Bryan Byrd at Eastern Bikes was able to provide the 20 Eastern Lowdown BMX bikes at a substantial discount. “When the opportunity presented itself, the first company I thought of was Eastern” says Justin Christopher, Director of Sales & Marketing at Jenson USA. “We had planned on donating just bikes, but Bryan graciously offered such a discount that we were able to work kickstands and locks into our budget also.”
