2017 Sea Otter Classic

Crankbrothers Highline 160

The Highline is now available in 100, 125, and 160mm lengths.

160mm Crankbrothers Highline

Last year, Crankbrothers launched a new dropper post. Based on previous history we were a bit apprehensive, but after a full season of abuse the post has been nothing but reliable. Our only complaint? It was only available as a 125mm. That issue has been resolved. Crankbrothers now has a 100mm and 160mm versions of the post, in addition to the original 125mm offering. All three versions retail for $350 and come with a three-year warranty. For more info, check out coverage here. You can also catch our review of the original 125mm post here.

Fox Transfer 40mm CX XC

For the CX/adventure crowd, Fox was teasing a short travel version of the Transfer.

40mm Fox Transfer

While Fox doesn't technically have any plans to sell this, they did have a short travel Transfer post on display. Right now, they're just trying to gauge interest. If enough riders want it, they might put it into production.

Race Face Turbine Dropper 2018 Updated

The Turbine is now available in a 175mm version.

Race Face Turbine Dropper relaunched

The Race Face Turbine dropper was originally launched last year, but for this model year, they've made some adjustments to improve customer experience and reliability. The big changes are a modified lever and some new QC steps at the factory. There's also a new 175mm version. For more info, check our coverage here.

X-Fusion Manic Dropper Post 2018

The Manic retails for $200 and has 125mm of travel.

X-Fusion Manic

X-Fusion first teased the Manic dropper last year at Eurobike, but it's finally shipping. This mechanically actuated post retails for $200. It's only available in a 125mm, but they are working on a 150mm version. To learn more, catch our Eurobike coverage here.

9Point8 Short Stroke XC Dropper Post

The new Short Stroke from 9Point8 weighs 339.5g. That might be light enough to convert some XC weight weenies.

9Point 8 Short Stroke

The Fall Line is one of our favorite dropper posts. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. In this case, that's a premium product that's made in North America and has a reputation for reliability. At Sea Otter, 9Point8 was teasing a shorter travel version designed for XC/CX riding. Dubbed the Short Stroke, this new post will use the same basic mechanism as their other posts, but is limited to 75mm of travel and can be trimmed to fit. Retail will be $489.
