Advanced Red Metal 29 XRP Wheels Up the Game for Fulcrum

Fulcrum is embracing their mountain bike wheel lineup for 2013 with expanded offerings, especially for 29ers. The all new Fulcrum RED METAL 29 XRP wheelset is targeted to XC riders and racers and particularly the endurance/marathon racers and hoping to be racers. This is a more advanced edition that helped Fulcrum’s top racers reach several podiums this last season (using the Red Metal 29 XL). Fulcrum engineers work closely with their world class athletes (on the TX-Active Bianchi team) in an effort to improve the wheelset more.

The result of the improvements is the RED METAL 29 XRP, a tubeless wheelset burly enough for rugged terrain of the pro racing circuit. Key to the upgrade are the triple-milled, lightened rim, the new oversize carbon fiber hub and thinned straight head steel spokes with the unique Fulcrum Two-to-One™ spoke layout on the front wheel. Rotational weight was reduced in addition to the new design. The nipple material choice was modified to keep rotational weight down. These improvements create an elite level 29 inch wheel that weights 1635 grams but remains rigid but reactive for even the hard core racer. The RED METAL 29 XRP is available in 15mm thru-axle or QR versions and has was made for XC, Marathon and All Mountain use.

They look good, but… No MSRPs? No details about rim profiles, width, rear hub engagement?..
I checked their website, but couldn’t easily find anything there either.

Good questions, Arek. I’ve added pricing info to the article above.

Rim width on all 4 models is 19mm.
The XRP and XL have 68 points of engagement and are UST ready.
The Power XL and Power SL are not UST ready, but you can use a conversion kit with them.

Hello i need to know if te XRP 29er rear wheel will take the sram xx 1.cassette drivetrain that comes in the set with the sram xx 1. set, or does Fulcrum have the drivetrain to take the sram xx 1. i cant see anything on the web sites to suggest the Fulcrum XRP as a drivetrain freehub with the wheel set just states oversize hub. Can someone tell me if the sram xx 1. drivetrain is compatible to the XRP or do they have their own supplied withe wheel set.
