This coming weekend will mark the competition debut of Geoff Kabush and SCOTT-3Rox Racing Team at the Mellow Johnny’s Classic, the first race of the 2012 USA Cycling Pro XCT. The event is also a UCI Category 1 event awarding top points to participants in their ride toward the 2012 London Olympics, a goal for Kabush.
The Flat Creek Crossing Ranch race venue with its rolling, and dry, rocky terrain could highlight equipment choices that are not yet common place at most World Cup XC races. The track will place an emphasis on speed, momentum, and roll over—all central attributes of the SCOTT Scale 29 RC. Having the ideal bike for any given course was part of the reason Geoff Kabush signed with SCOTT, and of his bike choice for the weekend he commented, “I am definitely going to race the Scale 29er; I like the feeling it gives me when I push the pace on the course.”
SCOTT-3Rox Racing teammate and 2011 Pan Am Games medallist Amanda Sin will also race the Scale 29er stating, “The 29er is very responsive on this rocky course, and it gives me the confidence I need to push the corners.”
