Fernie, British Columbia – Fernie Alpine Resort is getting ready for the upcoming, annual Full Throttle Mountain Bike Festival taking place August 21-22, 2010. The two-day festival is a showcase of Fernie Alpine Resort’s summer activities including mountain biking, hiking, and sight-seeing and a great way to celebrate the summer with plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy!
A variety of mountain biking competitions will take place throughout the weekend and great prizes are to be won by any biking enthusiast who wishes to participate (contact Guest Services for registration details – 250-423-4655). During the festival, the bike park will be open for recreational riding (other than on designated race trails) and there is plenty of excitement to take in as a spectator, as well as other activities such as the scenic chairlift, lift-accessed hiking, and plaza festivities featuring live music, beer gardens, and bike trials demos. Meet the SCOTT Pro Riders including Mike Hopkins (www.mike-hopkins.com) who will be ripping it up around the mountain and perhaps even challenge some of the competitors to a throw down on the dual slalom course – very exciting to watch!
The weekend hi-lights will include (schedule is subject to change):
