Rase Rapid Adjust Seatpost
We are happy to report that these issues have been solved and the product looks a more refined than before. Austin designed his own lever and it is a nice one. He experimented with different lengths but found this short one had enough leverage and was completely out of the way of the other controls. We wouldn’t be surprised if other manufacturers or users find another purpose for this lever.
And we rode it around and the action and click in/out is very smooth and predictable. Nine inches is a lot of adjustability so I think we’re all gong to develop some new tricks in our riding.
There is a little bit of wiggle on the seat but it is actually comparable to the Crank Brothers Joplin and Gravity Dropper that I’ve tried.
We should be getting one of these seatposts for a long term test so expect a review from mtbr.com.

That channel in the front of the seatpost looks like a crud catcher for sure.

The wiggle in the Joplin is annoying. Hopefully this one won’t have nearly as much…
What about the KS seatpost?

This is a great idea but these posts are useless for I-Beam type seats (SEE SGD) which are lighter and a big innovation departure from the old fashioned twin rail assembly. By making an adjustable (on the fly) system with the I-Beam technology, one could write their own ticket for pricing (lord knows SDG does). Making the addition not only beneficial, but also lighter and more in alignment with modern technology (utilizing the twin rail system as about as archaic as using beach cruisers for mountain biking).
