Dakine to Debut Spring 2009 Mtn Bike Shorts at Interbike
Collection Also Includes New Hydration Packs, Commuter Bags, Jerseys and Gloves
HOOD RIVER, Ore. (September 8, 2008) – DAKINE, the leader in action sports accessories, will preview its spring 2009 bike collection to retailers attending the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas, Nev. beginning on Sept. 24, 2008 at booth number 4625.
“DAKINE has created products in the mountain bike category for over a decade now and with each new season I continue to be impressed with the progression we see from our design team,” said Chico Bukovansky, National Sales Director for DAKINE. “Our spring ’09 bike line is the best all around bike collection we have created to-date in terms of functionality, quality and design. The input we received from our team riders, along with expanding our product range beyond core freeride, has taken everything to a new level.”
DAKINE’s spring ’09 bike collection includes a new short category for men featuring three styles, each named after trails near its office in Hood River, Ore. The 8 TRACK and SYNCLINE shorts both feature moisture wicking polyester mesh liner, back stretch panel, inner leg vents and a gusseted crotch for increased range of motion (8 TRACK MSRP $90.00, SYNCLINE MSRP $85.00). The CHORUS is a six pocket cargo short (MSRP $75.00). Each short also features double stitched seams and triple stitched critical seams for added durability.
In addition to mountain bike shorts, the collection also includes hydration packs, bags, jerseys and gloves for guys and girls. The new men’s AMP hydration pack is lightweight, includes a 100 oz. reservoir with Quick Disconnect hose and features DAKINE’s newly re-molded back panel with Air Channel Ventilation. The smaller AMP 12L is sold without reservoir (MSRP $65.00) and the AMP 18L with reservoir (MSRP $110.00). The ever-popular NOMAD hydration pack is now available in a girl’s specific design that features a molded back panel with Air Channel Ventilation (MSRP $95.00).
Also new for the upcoming season are two commuter style bags. The DISPATCH pack features rain resistant construction, rolling access u-lock pocket and perforated EVA back panel with removable waist belt (MSRP $90.00). The PORTER messenger includes a padded laptop sleeve, internal organizer pockets and removable waist belt (MSRP $75.00).
Jerseys for the season are available in short-sleeve, ¾ sleeve, and sleeveless versions with subtle all-over prints. Featuring moisture wicking bird eye polyester, AEGIS Microbe Shield anti-bacterial fabric treatment and an eyewear chamois sewn into the interior sideseam, all jerseys are designed with performance and comfort in mind. Jersey MSRP ranges from $40.00 to $45.00.
DAKINE’s spring ’09 bike collection also includes a mix of glove options for any condition. From the all mountain, slip-on style STEP-UP (MSRP $35.00) to the warm weather VENTILATOR (MSRP $35.00), the collection features updated favorites as well as the new STORM RIDER. The STORM RIDER has a longer cuff for cold weather riding with a Gore Tex® insert and waterproof shell for the ultimate in breathability and protection from the elements.
The spring 2009 bike collection will be available for purchase at DAKINE retailers beginning in January.
