I finally got to try the X-Fusion Velvet Fork and 02 Rear shock that I’ve heard so much about. These components are sought after in the aftermarket but very rare.
So I went through the rocky desert trails of Bootleg Canyon using a Specialized Pitch bike. The front and rear shocks performed admirable albeit uneventful. They performed just like the top crop of current generation forks. The action was buttery smooth. The steering and control was stiff and predictable. And the front and rear matched up very well.
Ho-hum, typical high-end modern equipment. But here’s the kicker. The front shock is $399. The 130mm travel is adjustable to 80mm in 10 mm increments. For the adventurous, it’s 650b wheelsize approved too.
