Downhill mountain bike race veteran Jackie Harmony brought home her first ever US National Championship in Beech Mountain, NC July 22nd. After over 10 years of dedication to racing down hills all over the world, and coming in second in the National Championships in the past, Jackie broke through with a dominant win over a quality field that included former world champion Melissa Buhl and top racers from all over the United States. In a sport where margins are often fractions of seconds, Jackie was able to take nine seconds out of her closest competitor.
Jackie now turns her eye to the remainder of her season and to representing the United States at the World Championships in Leogang, Austria September 2nd. Having brought two straight Pan American Continental Championships to her home state of Arizona, along with her National Championship, she’ll be looking to add a rainbow jersey (awarded to world champions) to her wardrobe.
Jackie would like to thank A Culture of Speed, Ecosphere Associates, Deity Components, Mountain Racing Products, Five Ten Shoes, Smith Optics, MTB Racing Solutions, BetterRide, Family, Friends and all the fantastic fans for their support and belief in fulfilling dreams!
