Covington GA September 7, 2009- Duro Tires sponsored rider Kathy Pruitt (Team Jamis) took the bronze medal at the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships on September 6th in Canberra, Australia, finishing third behind Emmeline Ragot of France and Tracey Moseley of Great Britain. Kathy’s podiums riding on Duro Tires at the Sea Otter Classic, the U.S. Open, and results from the USA Cycling Pro Gravity Tour qualified her as the American women’s downhill representative at the World’s, and her performance did not disappoint. Pruitt, a former Junior World Champion in 2000, was satisfied with her third place. “Anytime you are on the podium at the World Championships I don’t think it’s a bad day,” she said. “I’ve been missing out on all the World Cups this year, so just getting on the podium in a big race on a big day like this does a lot.”
Duro’s first year of elite sponsorship has seen podium finishes worldwide, as well as a STXC national championship title in the U.S. Duro congratulates Kathy on a phenomenal year. Look for Duro’s full range of Mountain, Road, BMX, and Urban tires at a dealer near you.
