Lazer Sport NV is proud to announce that it has formed a sponsoring partnership with Katie Compton through the 2013 racing season. Katie is the current USA Cyclocross National Champion and has won this championship six consecutive times. She has also won numerous UCI cyclocross World Cup races, is a two time winner of the USA Short Track Mountain Bike National Championship and finished 3rd in the 2009 UCI Cylocross World Championship.
“We are very excited to be working with Katie Compton!” stated Sean van Waes, Lazer Sport Head Helmeteer. “She is a dominating force in women’s professional cycling and is very well known not just in the USA but worldwide. It’s only natural to expect to see the world’s best athletes using the world’s best products and we look forward to our partnership with Katie as she continues her successful career in the coming years. We are glad to have Katie on board as our newest helmeteer!”
“I am very excited about joining the Lazer family,” stated Katie Compton. “Throughout my career, I have always placed a premium on the cause and effect relationship between product development and athlete performance; without the former, the latter will never occur. Lazer has a proven track record of putting in the countless hours of research and development into their product line so that their athletes can truly perform to their full capabilities. One thing is for certain: great things are on the horizon for both Katie Compton and Lazer.”
Katie will be making her racing debut in the Lazer Helium USA National Champion Special Edition helmet this weekend at the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross in Fort Collins Colorado.
