Lunch Loop Bike Park: Volunteer Day #1

A quick report on this morning’s first LLBP Volunteer Day + COPMOBA/IMBA Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

We had 75 or so folks – mostly families - show up to build and ride trail this morning!  We were joined by volunteer steadfasts, folks who were trailbuilding for the first time, folks young and young at heart, LLBP sponsors, as well as Dan Grunig from Bicycle Colorado and Greg Mazu’sSingletrack Trails crew.  Three sweet! and substantial alternate skills lines and a Kurt’s Lane re-route were ready to ride in less than 3 hours!   A success by all measures.  We do it again next week!

The start-hill & wall-ramp brick retainer walls and  were set yesterday in preparation for the 3 primary park features – the pump track, jump lines & dual slalom course.  Greg and the Singletrack Trails crew, Grassroots Cycles’ James Flatten, and Parks & Rec employees start the 2-week construction Monday!
