Light Meter Measurements:

This light measured 45 lux on our ambient light measurement facility. This is brighter than many other lights  that claim 700 lumens.   For comparison, the Magicshine MJ808 light claims 900 lumens but only measured 37 lux on our test bed

Strengths:

  • very light at 190 grams complete
  • very bright at 45 lux and conservatively rated at 550 lumens
  • long run time at 2:45 hours
  • perfect for helmet mounting light weight that is balanced front to back
  • brilliant handlebar mount (optional)
  • excellent battery and charger quality
  • good value for a Lupine
  • build quality is superb

Weaknesses:

  • handlebar mount is extra cost
  • case is not included

Bottom Line:

This is the most exciting light of 2011. It is so light and useable that it can be used alone or complement any light. $310 is not cheap but it is a tremendous value for Lupine’s quality and reputation.
