Kali Protectives co-owner pushing the boundaries of a rider driven company.
Oceanside, CA, June 9, 2010 – Kali Protectives co-owner, Mike Wilson, will be pushing his riding limits this week as he embarks on the Race Across the West (RAW). This 860 mile solo, non-stop event starts at noon on June 9th in Oceanside, California and Wilson must reach Durango, Colorado in 92 hours or less. The Race Across the West takes place simultaneously with the Race Across America (RAAM), the worlds’ most difficult bicycle race.
Wilson’s specific training started 9 months ago and come Wednesday, he will be letting the bike speak for itself. With an experienced crew of six and two chase vehicles on the road (complete with a medical staff), he will be in good hands all the way.
“I look at every ultra event as way to test myself, my limits and to grow as a person and an athlete. I can’t possibly thank Brad and the entire Kali Team for all their support in encouraging me to chase this ultra dream,” Wilson said. “Plus, you might keep your eyes peeled for the race photos. I might be doing some field testing of a prototype Kali Road helmet…”
Wilson has long been an endurance cyclist, twice before competitively racing the Furnace Creek 508, one of the most revered endurance cycling races in the world (racing the length of the Mojave Desert and Death Valley in one 48 hour period).
Not to mention how Kali Protectives will be following Wilson’s every move as this is a true testament to the Kali brand – by riders, for riders.
