The opening of the downhill track at Bikepark Groningen during the second round of the Dutch Mini-Downhill Cup proved to be no less than a success. With plenty of riders and a challenging track the Bikepark Groningen crew found key for all ages to have a blast. In a relaxed vibe training started early Sunday morning while the track was still very slippery.
Later on all riders got two chances to clock the best time they possibly could, while the track started to get faster and faster. After the first series of runs the best results were already quite impressive, but the second run saw riders go beyond the speed of light. Lars Veenstra ended up third with 45,48sec faster still was Daniël Prijkel, finishing in 0:44.35 but none could keep up with the insanely fast run of Joost Wichman who managed a run from top to bottom in no more than 42,87.
Six fanatic juniors were present at this race. In third Floris Snoeren tracked a time of 56,89 seconds, Kevin Spanninga finished second with a time 51,61 sec. and the junior race was won by Tom van Steenbergen with a time of 48,87sec.
