Mountain Racing Products (MRP) is proud to announce the recent award of United States Patent No. RE 42,436. This patent covers MRP products that have a chain ring protector that mounts to the frame of a bicycle rather than to the crank spider - including the G2, G2 SL, XCG and the new 2X guide. "We are excited to have an issued patent in our hands that covers this cutting edge concept. The original patent was filed in 2002, so it has been a long time coming," says Tim Fry, President of Mountain Racing Products. The grant of this patent puts MRP in a strong position to continue developing the best chain guides/guards on the market along with enforcing its intellectual property rights.

MRP has a long history of making the best chain management systems in the bicycle industry and leading the way in the advancement of this technology. MRP created the first DH specific chain guide in 1996 with its patented dual roller guide, the System 1 and System 2. We continue to improve the crank mounted bash guard guides with the launch of the S4 in 2011. Additionally, MRP, in a combined effort with MR DIRT, developed the original ISCG standard in 1999 (www.iscg.org).
