If you are looking for something other than smooth singletrack races, this is the race to hit! Tons of technical riding surrounded with amazing views and a great central location here in the heart of the Rockies.
The hill climb is a mix of gravel road and Little Rattler’ singletrack. 1.98 miles with 700 feet of climbing should prove for a good little lung buster. The circuit race shares the the XC start of steep gravel road climbing followed by the middle climb of the hill climb to great singletrack on Front Side and Burn Pile trails.
Sunday’s cross country course will be a challenging blast with a great mix of two-track county roads and technically-demanding singletrack. The course starts of with a great section of gravel and paved road climbing to split up the pack, and then it’s off to the best technical singletrack in the central Colorado region. All the races are exposed to the amazing 3.5 mile section of North Backbone and Tenderfoot trail. Pros and CAT 1’s get the experience of Uncle Nazty and Prospector. Some truly amazing riding will be represented this weekend! In addition, there is a cruiser crit in downtown Salida Saturday afternoon that will be fun for the whole family to check out. It is a fundraiser for the Fibark boat race in, so bring your cruiser or rent one from Absolute Bikes located at 330 W Sackett Avenue.
