Vittoria today launched a new tire for cyclocross called the Cross XL Pro. Available in 31c and 33c sizes, the Cross XL Pro can also be purchased as a clincher, a tubeless clincher or a tubular. Enhanced center knobs and optimal spacing deliver fast rolling performance in dry conditions and mud shedding traction in the most apocalyptic conditions.

This is the Scott Spark 900 that Scott wishes they had. It was raced in the pro short track race today and it weighs just 19.92 pounds – that’s with pedals and 4 ounces of Stan’s in each tire. It has prototype Spinergy carbon 29er wheels, SRAM XX1 drivetrain, a DT Swiss fork with carbon steerer tube and Formula R1 hydraulic brakes – totaly ready to race and under 20 pounds.

MTBR ad man Mark Gouge is out on the Sea Otter XC course right now racing on a wicked light 19lb. Felt FRD 29er with ENVE carbon wheels. Stay tuned for a full review on this no-holds-barred XC race rig.

This is a new 1300 gram carbon 29er prototype wheel from Spinergy. The wheel has 20mm rims with 24 spokes, a Hadley freehub body and it’s disc brake-compatible.

The ASS is stoked in this new Bell Super helmet. Features an integrated GoPro mount, a retractable vistor and 25 vents for cooling. Super light too! It will be available in stores starting in early May.

This is the Transition Team Carbon Covert bike with Transition’s new Anvil 9-piece trim kit. There are only three Coverts is this color right now since they were only made for the official team riders. Anvil is a new component line that Transition just launched. They’re making wheels, a saddle, grips, and the stem, bar and pedals you see here. The emphasis with the new Axis components is zero manufacturing limitations and an emphasis on design aesthetics. Translation: they don’t care how difficult it is to make them and they’re gonna be pretty.

The Cat 1 dual slalom finals were held this morning at Sea Otter. Here are a few photos of the action. That’s Carter Holland of Blk Mrkt bikes in the yellow T-shirt (plate number 246). He took first place in the men’s 40-49 class. The berm photo is Alex Geddes, from Whistler, BC. He finished third in the Cat 1 men 18 and under class. The photo of the two guys racing neck-to-neck is Jonathan Card (orange kit) and Allan Cooke, battling for 1st place in the Cat 1 men’s 30-39 class. Jonathan ended up taking the win for that class.

Answer is coming out with new full carbon Proteam SL handlebars and seatpost. The 720mm bars will come in 0, .5 and 1″ rise, and post will come in all diameters in 350 and 400mm lengths, with 0 and 20mm offset options.
