NAHBS Breaks Exhibitor Record!!!

Crowd shot, 2010The champagne corks were popping at NAHBS HQ last week (aka the workshop of Don Walker Cycles) when the total of NAHBS exhibitors exceeded 150, the previous record set in cycling-mad Portland, Oregon. Well it seems that Austin, Texas, is pretty darn cycling friendly itself, and a lot of people want to be there. Or is it that the whole industry is just popping at the seams? Whatever the reason, we had 150 exhibitors at Portland and we are expecting to peak out at more than 160 in Austin. Yay!!!
We sent out a press release about this, it includes quotes from builders and our friends at Mellow Johnny’s and the Bicycle Sport Shop if you’re interested to read more.

NAHBS Enters Sock Partnership with DeFeet

DeFeet sock, black

Finally NAHBS is dipping a toe in the cycling apparel world with these super-comfy socks from renowned American manufacturer DeFeet.

Shane Cooper, the head guy at DeFeet, sees NAHBS as a natural partner for DeFeet socks. “We strive to apply the same attention to detail and craftsmanship making our products as these incredible fabricators do with bicycles.  After attending the show in Richmond, VA, we felt our story of manufacturing in the United States of sustainable fibers would marry well with the values of those presenting at the NAHBS.”

The NAHBS socks are available in black or white. We pulled the below text from their website, and in our experience it’s pretty much an accurate description.

As the ‘original air-flow design sock’, the Aireator is the sock that kicked off the air-flow rage years ago. Today, the Aireator still leads in durability, wicking, drying, and air permeability. Aireator stays cooler and more comfortable on your feet and lasts longer than anything else out there. That is why the Aireator remains the top pick of athletes competing at the highest levels of sport.

Lookin’ pretty darn good? We think so! We are making 288 pairs of socks. If you’d like to order some in advance to be sure of getting your size, we will hold them for you at the merchandise booth. We will be in touch about payment. Price is $9 per pair. Pre-order NAHBS socks.
