Beer and Film Under the Stars: New Belgium’s “Clips of Faith” Returns to Santa Cruz
18-City Tour of Homemade Films and Handmade Beer Hits Santa Cruz on July 20

Ft. Collins, CO – June 29, 2012 – New Belgium Brewing, maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale, is bringing its beer-toting, film-traveling, nonprofit-benefiting Clips of Faith show (www.clipsoffaith.com) back to Santa Cruz on Friday, July 20. The third annual Clips of Faith tour has hand-selected a variety of amateur films and will be serving its palate-elevating beers under a blanket of stars at the Wrigley Building and Parking Lot.

Since its inception, Clips of Faith has raised more than $100,000 for local philanthropic organizations. Last year, the Santa Cruz stop had approximately 750 attendees and generated nearly $4,300 for Project Bike Trip, whose mission is to enhance lives, create opportunities, and build sustainable communities through bicycle education.

The Clips of Faith films embrace many genres, including comedic shorts, animation and environmental documentaries. Some of the selected films for the 2012 tour include: The Canning Queen of the Desert: Classie Parker, a tale about deep conversations in the kitchen; DamNation, highlighting the controversy over water rights in the west; and Foxy Shazam – Unstoppable, a film entirely created with old school theater trickery, puppeteering and black light.

“This is a great way to support your own community and revel in the celebration of artistry in many forms,” said Christie Catania, Clips of Faith manager-at-large. “We invite you to come try some of our harder-to find Lips of Faith beers alongside popular New Belgium classics, while enjoying delicious fare from local vendors.”
